A look back at National Careers Week!
For National Careers Week we've been running a campaign on our social media channels about the variety of careers there are in Housing as well raising awareness about how we can support our residents to boost their potential through employability training and other online courses.
To kickstart the week, we highlighted a few members of our team from differing areas who've had experience across varying roles in the Housing sector.
Melisa, HR Administrator
We spoke to Melisa earlier this week who said, “I started my career with Fairhive as an apprentice. Since completing my Business Administrator apprenticeship, I have been fortunate enough to have been offered a permenant role and now a secondment in HR’
She added, ‘It’s important to branch out as much as you can. My varied roles were a great way to understand what our departments do for the business and how they impact each other’
Heather, Organisation Development Manager
Next up we spoke to Heather about what it was like to work in our field. She said, “Working in Housing isn’t just a job, it’s a vocation. Being part of an organisation that not only develops your skills but also gives back to the community’

Last up, we attended the Bucks Skills Show in Stoke Mandeville, Aylesbury as part of the Careers Week campaign to inspire the next generation to find out more about careers in Housing. We had some great feedback this year about our ‘Spin the Wheel’ game and our amazing prizes that were up for grabs! Take a look at our stand activity over on our Facebook page.
