Hello Fairhive!

Going forward with Fairhive! A new name and future for Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust

We have announced our exciting new identity today (April 1st) as we become Fairhive Homes Ltd! With the new name also comes a conversion to a Community Benefit Society (CBS). Don’t worry, nothing else is changing and we are maintaining our promise to keep our residents at the heart of all of our work.

These changes support the objectives within their Bigger, Better, Bolder and Beyond Corporate Strategy which aims to deliver quality services and a new build development programme for those most in housing need.

Our Chief Executive, Matthew Applegate, commented:

As our Board approved a conversion to a CBS, it was logical to rebrand at the same time so we could make all the changes at once.

“We’ve grown over the years and developed outside of the Vale (into Oxfordshire and South Northamptonshire) so having Aylesbury in our name didn’t make sense anymore. We also wanted to move away from links to the old district council especially following the creation of the unitary authority, Buckinghamshire Council.

The conversion won’t directly impact our residents and we will continue to provide services as normal. We will still be a not-for-profit housing provider and, for residents or leaseholders, the only change to their legal documents will be our new name.

We worked closely with residents, employees and contractors to gain their feedback before making changes to our logo and updating our imagery and website. It has been a real collaboration as we wanted to have a brand that everyone could feel associated with and proud of.”

Stephen Stringer, Chair of the Board, commented:

We are committed to providing our residents, and future residents, with high quality homes to live in and great customer service. We need to do this in the most efficient and sustainable way and that's why we are changing and moving forward to reflect our changing world. I am excited about creating Fairhive Homes to deliver on our strategy and to enable us to be fit for purpose for the future. None of this affects our core social purpose of being a social landlord providing homes for those in housing need, and supporting our local communities."
