The roll out of more smart thermostats in our homes
We work with Switchee to provide our residents with smart thermostat devices in their homes and so far we've started rolling these out to a pilot group of properties. The Switchee device allow us to provide a higher quality service with live updates, a damp and mould risk identifier, and the chance to reduce heating bills by 17%.
After the success of our launch with Switchee, We have committed to installing a further 1,100 devices this year, following on from the 900 units in the last three years. By the end of 2022 just under a quarter of our 8,500 homes will be connected.
Switchee empowers residents to reduce their energy consumption with their heating performance system and warnings and a great factor is that the devices do not rely on WIFI to function. Switchee was initially piloted to help prevent and manage damp and mould through data collected by our thermostat’s five sensors. When compared with sending letters, communicating via the Switchee device has saved us £12,000 between over the last year.
Andrew Rysdale, Assistant Director of Property at Fairhive, said: “Switchee is already an advantage at an operational level and we want more of our teams to engage with its features so we can be more responsive, in real-time, to help residents more, as well as monitor and better maintain our housing stock."
